Daniel Fairly Knives Keychain Tool

1/8" thick D2 tool Steel
Bottle Opener
Screwdriver
Pry Tip
Shackle/Wingnut Opener
Attaches to Keychain
Stonewashed Finish


These are very heavy duty and work great! The screwdriver is a standard size and the bottle opener works the first time. The stonewashed finish looks great and will wear very well on the keychain, pocket, in the toolbox, car, backpack, etc. They are a great compliment to any knife as you can use the pry tip. D2 steel is very wear resistant, tough and semi rust resistant so these will be around forever. The design is very heavy duty yet light on the keychain due to the construction.

That's the best design I've ever seen. I own the Schrade Pry Tool and Boker VOX, and I've seen every design by Atwood. I like yours better. Any chance of offering these in CPM154? Also, are they hardened up and tempered just like you would a knife?

Thanks, that is really good to hear!

I doubt I will do any CPM154 soon, I might do a run in Ti eventually though.

The heat treat on these is different than a knife would be. I temper for maximum toughness and the austenitizing temperature is a bit lower for toughness as well. They are still pretty hard at roughly 56/57 Rockwell but as tough as D2 gets.

By the heat treat is done with my digitally controlled kilns...

Awesome. If I got some of these, they would be gifts, probably mostly for non-knife people, so I was very, very slightly concerned about rust. Thanks for the info on the heat treat process!
 
anyone on the fence, get one. Awesome little tools. I use the one I have all the time. Want another one, but waiting out for some damascus.
 
If there are any left after the orgy of buyng by us devotees is over, I'd like another for a convert I'm working on :D

Hey I completely understand! D2 is on the verge of being a stainless but not quite. I need to make more stainless gear, the performance of steels like CPM154 is top notch.
