D2 Millie - To use or not to use...

I've had this D2 Millie sit in my drawer for over 2 years now. Realistically, I'm not going to sell it in the foreseeable future, I just love it too much :D. The question is, should i just go ahead and EDC it? Keep in mind that its not NIB but LNIB condition. Also, whats the market value on one of these things? I havent been on BF for awhile. It might help in my decision...
 
I'd use it. Contrary to optimistic sellers' claims, they're not particularly rare nor are they particularly pricey compared to other Military sprints.
 
I have still seen them for sale for about $129-139, cant remember exactly as it was a few weeks ago or so but places still have them in stock.

Use it!! :D
 
I would use it. Until a steel is used, the performance of it (for the user anyway) is unknown. If you don't know how steel will perform, I don't see a particular need to have knives in different steels.

If you're collecting that's one thing. It sounds like this might just not yet been in your rotation. If that's the case, use it!

If you don't have a few other militaries you already use, I would use it for sure. It's one of my favorites.

Not sure what yours is worth at LNIB, but I've seen a few NIB sale for $200 or more here. Not often you see one come up.

EDIT: I think it was some place in Canada selling them!

Thats a Para 1, and in Canada. The Militaries are much harder to find, and cost a good bit more. Thanks for the link though.


edit- BTW, you may want to take the link down since they don't sell here at BF(BF rule).

I actually only have 3 knives, all Spydies tho. I have a G10 Endura, the D2 Military and an all steel lockback, I forget the name. I really only EDC the Endura, and rarely the lockback.

Back to the original question, I guess I'll use it. Not much use just sitting around and apparently NOT gathering any value.

Sorry about my mistake. I guess I only seen the "D2" and Millitary as just assumed you meant the PM. :D
 
CPM D2 takes a fine edge and has good toughness as well. Use it!

I would use it as I have heard CPM D2 is quite a fun steel. I love the way that Spyderco uses all these different steels; it makes my mouth water when I think of getting and using them. Thats the only reason they do it, so they can be used.
 
I'd imagine even used it would sell pretty well in a few years as long as you don't abuse it.

Neither of the CPM-D2 sprints caught fire like many of the others. I'm not sure why - I like the foliage green G10 a lot, and CPM-D2 is a very good steel, even if it's not in the same class as S90V. :confused:
