Just got this in this morning. Now to see if I have a screw that will work for this one.

Also, it was reportedly said to need a 'once over' because the lock up is bad, and its very hard to open.

At this point I have not tested it but it appears to be fairly easy to open and on par with other Millies I have had here. Also, the lock does not defeat under spine pressure.

Chief did you spine tap it and decide the lock is bad? I have not done this but perhaps I should. I'm just curious because I'm not seeing initially any problem. I'll get back to you though. Let me look it over a bit.

For screw choices I have the right thread with the wrong head. I made a ryhme! :D

The head size of the T6 torx screws I use are bigger. However I had the right size head but the wrong tool. The screw I stuck in there is for a .050 hex head key instead of torx but it works fine You can see its different on this scan but to the eye it does not stand out so bad. I think it is fine but I'm sure Spyderco would mail you another screw for this. So this one will hold it over until you get it. I have some but they are button head type and not flat head.
As for the lock and the action. I'm not seeing anything out of the ordinary here and it seems fine to me. Its passed everytest I've done and performed fine. I'm sure with the right movement I could make it defeat but that is possible with any liner lock I think but this one seems to be A Okay to me.

Ok correction! I did have the right screw afterall. Just one lone screw I stuck in a bin all by itself. Not sure what it came off of but it is the same screw as the others so the screw deal is fixed with another T6 torx head screw like the others.

It is hard to tell but if you look close you can see the difference in the screw slot sizes. I think the light off my scanner must just be hitting more at that spot for that screw because it looks identical in the hand. Its a Spyderco screw so it should be.

Hey STR

sorry I haven't been around in a few days, my wife and I just got a new puppy and she has been taking up all of my time. The screw sounds just fine, thanks for the fix. As for the lockup problem when I open the blade slowly the liner would not fully engage the tang, the satisfying click that I am used to hearing from my other liner locks was missing, and I found it very hard to get the blade started like it was really getting hung up on the detent. This is my first Military so maybe I just jumped the gun and was expecting it to be a little smoother, if you say it's OK then I believe you.

Well as for ok??? I think so. Its no different and actually easier to open than another that I had here at the same time so to me its on par with everything else I've had here to compare it to.

Its on the way back to you and may be there tomorrow.

Thanks

This ones on me.

Enjoy the holidays Chris. All I did was slap a screw in it and mail it home.

Well, I checked it over good but you know.

Hey STR,

I got my Millie back today and it feels like a different knife! Not sure if you worked some kind of Voodoo on it but it is really smooth now. I lubed it with tuff glide right before I lost the screw and sent it to you so I never had a chance to manipulate it after that so I'm not sure if thats what did it? Anyways thatnks!

I lubed it a mite myself but it felt fine for me.
