Got this Ness Mac done this afternoon, acid etched and stone washed D2 blade, orange and black tiger stripe G-10 handles with milling. In addition to changing the looks of the handle, the milled slots help improve the grip on the handles giving the user's palm some more traction.

I have to be honest I really dig that knife....but im not so sure about the machined slots, I know they add function, but I think it would look better without them........maybe if you used a ball end mill.....

Thanks guys!

metalmole....I appreciate the feedback. A ball end mill might pull it off a bit better. I want to play around with different depths as well.

I love that knife...I really like the slots...I have to agree with metalmole though as I think a different pattern with a ball end mill would look a little better. (just my $0.02 though) I like the depth of cut...but how does it feel in the hand? Does the sharpness of the cut affect hand holding at all. I understand the better grip...but I was wondering about how the sharpness of the cut would affect anything...would a ball cut achieve the same goal with more comfort? (fwiw even CRK went to that style of grip on their Green Beret handles a few years back for the advantage of gripping with wet hands) Amazing work nontheless.

Jonny,
Kudos for the effort here that is a beautiful knife and the etched tumbled is awesome. But personally I am with Metalmoe and 1shot1kill on this one. I have found that with the layered colors the milling looks a lot better if it runs counter to the strips...Or top to bottom in some fashion. With solids it is not quite so important. I would also agree that a ball mill end creates a better looking groove but something similar in size to what you did would be good. Hope that might help Bud. As always your work is looking sweet.
