D2 or S30V , which should I order?

I am ordering a small basic utility with micarta handle. I have a choice of D2 or s30v. I have picked knife pattern but just can't decide which steel, and it's holding me up. I hate staining and rust but have read D2 is a semi-stainless. I live in GA(humid) and fish some(not saltwater) and will use it for general use. What steel would you get???

Humidity and water (even though it's not salt); I'd get the most stainless, which I believe is S30V. My S30v Leek just won't get dull, and so far hasn't stained at all, and that's with some friut and other food cutting.

Generally I'd favor D2 over S30V but in your circumstances and with your dislike of stains, I wonder why you wouldn't want the latter.

S30V is *much* more stainless than D2 with proper heat treatment. If corrosion is a concern S30V is a solid choice, cutting in wet materials it can out last D2 significantly.

S30V would be my choice, I live in Houston so humidity is lol... In my opinion with you not liking stains and your living conditions I would also pick S30V.

S30V are much easier to get sharp and see most of my utility duties.

for a small knife the opinion seems to be the s30v. personally i prefer d2, i'll deal with the staining and with care this should not be much of a problem. later, ahgar

thanks for the help. I e-mailed and told him to make it s30v, seems like either would do fine but the way I hate stains I agree s30v will make me happy.
