D2 steel vs k100 (D3)?

So I received a knife from Russia (atropos demon), and I ordered it to have a blade in D2, but it came as K100 (which is equivalent to D3 after some googling).

Can anyone tell my how D3 compares to D2 when it comes to blade steel?
