Ok, this is just another idea in regards to the threads about bg42/D2 spydies. The waved endura is a project in the works that has a lot of people excited, I wonder if it might be worth it to try and include the d2 desire on this knife? That would be two very cool features on one knife that is most likely going to be sold at a very friendly price.
Would this meet the desires of the bf spydie fanatics? Is this doable Spyderco? I realize there are still things being worked out but is this even possib le?

Personally I think it would be way cooler then yet another native especially as the more I think about it the less sense it makes to me to create a knife already out in s30v in a different high end steel.

my .2 cents

Sounds good to me. They have to re-tool for the waved run anyway so changing steels is probably non-issue.

I'm going to "stick" the D-2 and BG-42 threads so they are up top when Sal comes back from the latest knife show.

I bought a Dremel specifically for the task of "waving" an Endura. (Obviously the Dremel has many other applications.) The end result was successful, albeit ugly. My technique needs perfecting. I'm so glad that Mr. Glesser has arranged for this new knife, if only for those of us who are not adroit with the Dremel.

Now that an agreement with Mr. Emerson has paved the way, I can't help but wonder if a "wave" is part of the design of the much-anticipated "Pikal" knife. How else could one draw a folder into a pikal grip?

I was very lucky at the recient NYCKS in that Eric let me play with the Waved Endura and it is a very sweet opening knife! I had only played with a Waved knife once before and I got it to wave open first time... On my must own list!!!!!

Thanks Eric, meant a lot to me! :D

If it works for Spyderco, fine. Not sure but am guessing both D2 and BG42 are American steels and ,if so, do wonder what effect having to ship the steel, or the finished blades, to Japan, would have on pricing. I'd probably pass on it myself, have no real desire for a waved Endura.

Got to handle both the Pikal and the waved Endura at the NYCKS, can say for certain that Pikal proto did not have a wave.
