D2?

Does anyone know if emerson has any plans to make something in D2?

I don't generally use my knives for self defense... I use them as working knives, with a few exceptions. I'm a carpenter, and I 've come to love a nice chisel grind as something for general usage. I wish sometimes the blade was ground on the other side, it'd make right handed work a little easier in some cases, but regardless... I'd really love to see a tanto blade in D2. The ATS/CM sharpens up nicely, but I'd like to be able to go a little longer between sharpening sessions.

Emerson Knives seem to be happy with 154-CM. I wouldn't wait on them switching to D2 any time soon. I am sure they will stay with the left-hand chisel grind, too.

Why not try a custom maker? I know that sounds expensive, but if you get someone relatively new, he won't charge much more than a high-end production. You can get the pattern and materials you want.
