Ok,

I've looked all over the Strider website, and I've even tried searching this forum for some answers or discussions about it, but I've yet to find any information about this knife here. Yes, like I'm sure many of you did, I read about it in the Tactical Knives magazine, and of course, I want one.

The question is, what's the real scoop on these? Are they actually available? I'm looking for some specs on the knife itself, as well as pricing and availability. If anyone could share, I'd be in your debt.

And yes, I'll most likely mail the crew at Strider Knives about this, but I figured this 'wired' community may be a bit faster on the draw in regards to this one. After all, knife makers are supposed to be busy making knives....aren't they? :D

Thanks for the lead on the knife, it's greatly appreciated.

I'm also looking for as much information as I can get on this knife, as it was my understanding that Strider Knives would be offering this model on a regular basis?

If anyone can clear that up, I'd appreciate it. :)

At this time the D-9 is a Duane custom.
At will become a production Pc. next year.
Price is $500.00
I have one in stock!
Thanks Matt D

FWIW, I'll give you an unsolicited testimonial after seeing and handling one at a show. In my opinion the D9 is maybe the best pure combat knife design since the K-Bar. Good point strength, great working edge, and very strong.

Thanks for the information guys!

What I'm really curious about though, is the overall specs of the knife itself. What is the blade length, width, material? What is the overall length of the knife?

I'm looking for the down 'n dirty specs on this thing, so give 'em up! :D

I've also found out that this was stictly a custom piece that Dwyer made, and that there were a few of them. I've been told that this will later be a prodction piece available from Strider, in the $350 range. It would have been nice to get both the knife specs, and know that it was made by Dwyer, in the Tactical Knives article. I also noticed that they took a hell of a lot more photos of the Fallenkniven, than they did the D-9. Personally, I found that irritating as well. If you're going to show the knives, I would think that would include pictures as well! sheesh!

As for buying one of the Dwyer customs, I'd have to consider that one for a while. The asking price is pretty steep, and I've got a couple of other knives up higher on my wish list at the moment. It's not that I think $500 for a truly custom, limited prototype run knife is too much, it's just that I'm a user, not just a collector, and if they have a regular production model available soon, for the prices I've been told about, I may just get one of those. After all, I'd hate to ruin the investment opportunity for those of you that buy these for that purpose.

...because I tell ya, if I bought it, it would be prying trees apart the next day! :p

Just to correct myself, and to take my foot out of my mouth, :footinmou , I read through that article in Tactical Knives again this morning, actually paying attention to the writing, and low and behold, there were the specs, and the commentary about Dwyer.

*sighs*

My appologies to anyone from Tactical Knives reading my earlier post...I'm just a dumbass, so pay me no mind. :p

But I still think you should have had way more pictures of the D-9!!

:D

Jerry, coming from you that's one hell of an endorsement. You got me wanting one now :D
