Hi all

Bought one yesterday - no sheet but otherwise in rather good shape. Paid 25$ for it.

It looks like a big dagger, has a serrated edge on one side and a plain on the other, and the tip of the knife is made like a big pry bar - ever heard of it?

Know where I can find a sheet?

Your help is gr8tly appreciated.

Blilious,

It sounds like either the Hi-Tech or the Mikado line to me. My brother has one Mikado, but unfortunately I know squat about it. Here's Dacor's site: http://www.divedacor.com .

Edit: Ooops... the link didn't work. Try this one.

This is what I was talking about:
http://www.divedacor.com/index_accys.html

you can't tell - but the Chisel-tip
is twisted up like a pry bar - and is very thick - looks like you can lift a 10 Kg mine with it - only problem it is made of steel - wouldn't want to get near any mine with this tool...

Frantium - your frofile doesn't say you dive - do you?

if you want to see some of the most amazing sites - come to israel and sini - gr8 sites and gr8 weather.

You probably read my other post to another thread but no, I don't dive (as much as I like). My brother dives a lot back in Indonesia. Occupational hazard I guess as he works for a pearl company. I've been looking for a good dive knife for his birthday. Do you know one

?

Frantium - yes there is one beautiful dive knife that I use - The Mad dog ATAK 2

Only problem - you have to like your brother ALLOT - it goes for 350-450 $ and the debate on whether it is worth it or not has been going on forever in this forum (longest string I remember)

Other good options will be the Mission knives - especially the titanium version - but they are also pricey.

Simple knives - I have a nice Techno-Sub I found during a dive in the north part of the Israeli cost, cleaned it and wiped all the dirt off of it and now it looks almost new and I use it from time to time.

Blilious,

I'm familiar with Kevin's work, and have some of his knives too. But I still don't think O-1, albeit hard-chromed, will stand to saltwater use, though I seem to remember a thread in KnifeForums more than a year ago about one owner who used his knife while diving. I also have two of Kevin's Mirage X knives, and although they'll never rust and make good rope cutters, they won't last long if dropped on rocks, used to pry, etc.

Now that you mentioned it, I've been considering a Mission MPK or MPT in Titanium. But their blade geometry are a bit off of a normal dive knife, IMO. So..., I'm still looking around and open to any suggestion.

Considering the price of the manufacturers' contenders, I'll probably go the custom way, and have a dive knife (preferably flat tipped) commissioned anyway. Hmmm..., any good Titanium knife maker out there? And yes, I love my brother that much
