My father's uncles had a tool & die company for many years in Van Nuys, Ca. As a promotional item, the had their company name put onto some SAKs. I had one as a kid, but as many kids do, I lost it. I recently asked my dad if he had any to spare, and he brought me two.
Additionally, for his 30th anniversary w/his company, they gave him a catalog (like they did for every 5 year milestone) and he was able to select any item up to the 30 year mark. He selected a Swiss Army gift box. It contained a knife, watch, and shades. He never wears a watch, needs prescription glasses, and isn't one to carry much more than a lineman's utility blade. I asked if he would mind giving it to me. He did not.
One item he brought that I didn't even know existed was a letter opener/knife from his uncle's first company in MI prior to moving to Cali. It is a Colonial, probably from the 50s. Of course, this post is pointless w/out pix, so please enjoy!
