I always start to think of my family this time of year, and started thinking about my Dad, and the knives he carried and used. First off let me say Dad was not a knife collector, he used them as he would any tool. Dad`s passion was gun collecting, primarily older military guns (he was a WW II Veteran). He had everything from a Peabody from the Civil War, up through Krags, 1903`s 1903 A3`s, 1917 Enfield, M1 Garand, and M1 Carbine, as far as he was concerned anything after that was not worth collecting. When he go sick 10 years ago, he had me sell off his gun collection, all except his Beretta .25, and S&W Model 15, those were his users, he had me keep those two.

Back to the knives, these are the ones he carried, and I treasure. Thanks for listening to me rambling on, and Merry Christmas.

Cool memories. My dad doesn't collect anything and his only knives have ever been electricians knives. They were well used and sharpened on whatever he had nearby to sharpen them.

Cool stuff John. I'd like to see that Kamp King all cleaned up.

Nice knives, John.

My father used to carry a very small pearl handled two-blade pen knife - probably an inexpensive Imperial or the like.

He no longer carries a pocket knife at all, and he does not know what became of his old EDC.

Merry Christmas, Friends!

Those are some great knives, full of memories.

Thanks or sharing them with us!

Awesome John, I have an OVB that might be the exact model as that H.S.B. Same Co. . I also have a Western thats very similar to that Camillus that came from my Dad. Seems our fathers had the same taste in knives:thumbup:

Bring them along in January, we can compare them. The thing I like about the Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett, and Co. is that they were based in Chicago, and later turned into True Value Hardware.
