I have two pairs coming. One showed up today and the other should be here tomorrow.

(1) I finally broke down and bought some pants for my AK. No more "going commando" I guess. :D This one is from Okuden. I plan on ordering a BB (taco style) and maybe some leather pants in the future.

Man this thing IS bullet-proof. And I love the slats on it for pack attachment. Brian does excellent work.

(2) After seeing a few threads with the Spec-Ops sheaths I decided to grab myself one for my BATAC SE. I order this from Tad Gear. It is a small, OD, Combat Master. This is a very well maid sheath. This is before the mods to the liner as Guyon showed us in another thread.

Then I used a circular file to make a notch for the guard.

Since the round file, which cut really fast, made the notch rounded I used a rectangular file to square it off for a better fit.

Now it is a perfect fit. And a snug one at that. No rattling around here.
(3) Here is an idea I am just playing with. BATAC-SE piggy-backing on the AK. It actually feels good carrying it this way.

It is thinner than I expected, which is good. I can't wait to see how slim Buy Brown's is. ;) We are fortunate to have such skilled sheath makers out there.:thumbup:

Like you said, Oku makes a bomb proof sheath...bet that handle retention "click" is a sweet sound:thumbup:

Great looking combo!

I got to hold one of those at Blade, it's a SWEET sheath for sure! Tough as nails.

Great looking sheath. Appears thin but virtually indestructable.

Tyrkon,
That is one sweet sheath for sure :thumbup: but this whole "not going commando" thing is just.......well, kookie talk  double  Waiting on buy brown pics! Scott

Looks great mate...does it mark the blade at all? Also what is one of them worth and what is the wait time? I have an AK on the way that will need a sheath also :) ...

I emailed Brian on a whim and he just happened to have a few finished up and ready to ship. I am not sure what the average wait time is though. If you want one I'd call or email him a.s.a.p. I received it 3 days after ordering. It was $150 + shipping.

As far as it marking the blade... I have stripped my blade and use it often so I have no idea if it leaves marks on a coated blade. Mine is well marked and well loved from use already. :D

it should not mark the blade at all. brian uses a scale retention system as opposed to a blade retention. the blade is looser in the sheath than most kydex, but the scale retention is snug and prevents most rattles.

Do you reckon it would scratch up the handle on mine though cause I have the aluminium not micarta coming. I remember the aluminium on my old MOD Ayoob was easy to scratch.
