Not to long ago I bought myself a 119BR, in fact I posted a question here asking what "BR" stood for. Turns out this 119BR has become my favorite. So I got to thinking that maybe I should get another 119 and just keep the 119BR on the shelf.

A few days ago, I posted that my B-Day was coming up, and that I planned to go to a local gun/knife show. Thinking I may find a used 119, that I could use and not worry about. Well sure enough, I found one that had the old style holster type sheath. The sheath was in outstanding condition if I do say so myself. Looking like it had been in a showcase all it's life, or very gentle use at best. After I got home, I got to looking the knife over a little more closely. It had a few stains on it I managed to polish off. Son of a Gun, this rascal is a pretty darn good lookin' no dot 119 itself! Shame to use it, get it all beat up. Not to mention it would be a crime to trash that sheath!

Ok, so I trot off to Wally World, and find a 119, in a box, for $35.00. Brought it home. Now it's brand new, but it's got the Idaho stamp... nope I tell myself, this one is a "user". But the sheath sucks.

Now I've seen that Special Ops sheath Goose has, and the 119 fits so well...

Man, I'm an old fart with a thin wallet! Is there a cure? :)

No one around here has found a cure yet. However, you may be the first...but your symptoms are looking like you have a bad case developing.

Have fun.

:)

Sorry, no known cure. In fact, its dangerous just hanging out here...most of us got it real bad! And it IS contagious.

Good luck with your new 119 collection. :D

While I am waiting for a replacement Nighthawk to arrive, I am going to purchase a 119. I can't decide on the $35 wally world special with a nylon sheath or the $45 119 at k-world with a leather sheath.

The leather is definately much nicer, but since I am planning to get a Spec Ops sheath for the Nighthawk I will probably carry the 119 in it too. What is a guy to do??? I hate these kind of decisions! :(

Ha! I can relate to your problem. In the last month I have bought 2 handguns and 2 knives. Now, like you I have to get one of those really cool sheaths that Goose showed us. Boys and their toys!

Now, I am wanting a 119 too. Really like the looks of those.:D

WARNING--Buck Fever--Very Contagious to Adult Males

Symptoms: Continual need to hold, fondle, inspect, sharpen, and use a Buck Knife; continual complaint as to needing "one more fix"; each "fix" requires bigger and better specimen; patient generally has blank expression and sometimes deaf to wife and kids; has no taste for work of any kind; hangs out in sporting goods and hardware stores too long; mumbles to self; hangs out in blade forums and eBay on the computer; known to stretch the truth a bit from time to time; often starts each sentence with, "But, really, Honey, I only need one more!"

No Known Cure

Treatment: Medication is useless. Disease is not fatal, only terminal. Visit your nearest Buck dealer as often as possible. Family members and friends must be cognizant of patients condition and handle them with kid gloves. Sudden loud noises and complaints of maxed out credit cards can cause sudden relapses. In advanced stages patient may be incoherent and talk in sentences full of numbers such as 119's, 120's, 292's, 301's, 505's, 110's, and 112's.

You hit the nail on the head Rudderjt.

In a previous life I used to collect guitars. Now I only have about 6 of them. On the guitar forums they call it having GAS (Guitar Accumulation Syndrome).

I think we need an acronym for this knife collecting bug. How about a contest to name the sickness?

You guys are all correct.
There is no known cure. And Buck knows it. They keep putting out new goods while some of us still have so far to go to even come close to those Sirusly addicted.

Mike, until a newer name is found, I will call it by it's scientific name: cervus morbus (Buck Fever).

I can't decide on the $35 wally world special with a nylon sheath or the $45 119 at k-world with a leather sheath.

Why not a Buck 119BR (with brass guard & pommel) with Cocobola grip for $65.95 (Includes a Burgundy leather belt sheath) at BKO??? That would be my choice... :D

That’s right trax.

…alright Will, you only have one shot with this smoke poll so don’t screw it up…….phff BOOM……Damn it, damn it, damn it…(smacks forehead with palm)
