I found my dads old WWII KBAR a couple of months ago, I cant seem to find an answer to what the metal thing on the top of the sheath is. It seems to be some kind of thing used to attach it to a belt? Can anyone tell me what the wire thing on the top of the sheath is? I circled the part in question in the picture!
I really appreciate any help given!

I had to use my phones app so it is not circled buy you can see it!

Still no photo. If it is a wire that kind of bends back on itself on both ends, it is to go thru the holes on a GI web belt, there by attaching the sheath to the web belt.

The picture is visible when I found this thread and indeed that's exactly what it is - a web belt hangar.

The hook is properly known as an "M1910". Used to attach holsters, pouches, sheaths, etc. to the web utility belt and other gear.
These sheaths weren't provided with one, not even the plastic/web sheath, the MKII didn't come with one. But stuff gets customized all the time.

Wow thanks to all who replied!! I thought as much but never saw one on any of the pictures on the web. Guess that make sense if it didn't come with the blade.
