This is Dad's Woodsman. Its got Waterfall Bubinga over East Indian Rosewood scales, and has a sheppards cross made from 5/32" thick SS pins. The front pin is a corby bolt.

Damnit Andy! Why did you have to do a cross of pins in that knife? One of the knives I was about to drill was going to get that. I copy you enough. I think this would be a bit much. lol

That is called a sheppards cross and was used in medieval France by sheppards when they said their prayers. Just stick the point into a stump, and instant altar. They couldn't get away from their flocks to get to church.

Yeah. ...I knew that. :p

Looks like someone has handled a laguiole knife a time or two;) Same design as the one someone was kind enough to gift me a year or two ago:thumbup:

Looks great, Andy:)

Definitely looks kind of Laguiolesk. My buddy Derrick has a really nice collection of Laguioles. He's a big time wine drinker. The shepherds cross is really popular among the Fontenille Pataud, Forge de Lagioule and Robert David designs.

That Bubinga looks absolutely unbelievable! The Sheppard's cross is a really nice touch. I'm sure Dad will be pleased:thumbup::D

that is a great desing and beatiful knife andy:thumbup::)

The bullseye lanyard tube is something I started doing about a year ago. Its two stainless steel tubes with either a G-10 or paper micarta tube sandwiched between them. That one is the paper micarta. Which I just found a source for. I wish there was different colors to choose from guys, but so far this is as much as I can find.

The cross is really starting to grow on me.
This is something that would appeal to my Wife. She walks the path with a much surer foot then I do.
