daft punk random access memories...WOW!

I was recently sharpening a few knives, which becomes quite the event. During the sharpening I had a few brewzers and was listening to the new daft album. I was wondering if any other fans had been getting into the album. I know its a bit different, but totally worth the 9 year wait. The whole album is solid and alot of work was put into it. Songs that I really dig are instant crush, Georgio by moroder, get lucky, contact, doin it right, and within. The whole album is SOLID and the other songs are amazing also. I highly recommend a through listen when you have some down time. It really is that good. The whole album really flows so smoothly, and feels like your listening to a work of art. I own the soundtrack to Tron Legacy, and that's done by Daft Punk. I'd be interested in a run-down of what this new album is like. I tend to like the heavy electronic style, and was wondering if this would be similar to the songs on the soundtrack. I just picked up the newest Deadmou5e CD, and, though it's pretty good, it tends to be more trance-ish than I prefer

I may just go check out what's out there on youtube.

I guess, if you could sort of describe the music, I'd appreciate it.

If you expect heavy electro beats like in Human After All or Tron, you won't like this album I think.
Heavy disco influences, lot's of collaborations. Very down tempo instead of the up tempo songs you're probably used to.

I got it a while ago and liked it. I was expecting something totally different, but what I got did not disappoint me. I like to listen to it as a whole, in the order they placed the songs in. I skip 'Touch' though, I really don't like that song.
I'm already looking forward to a new mixed Daft Punk iteration like Alive 2007. There's a lot of potential in these songs for remixes so... This is going to be a good summer

Im surprised you dont like "touch" it was one of the first songs that caught my ear. It is kinda a different style of song, it is a sentimental balad song I feel that is about a human that has become like a robot, but even tho he is now numb, he cant help but remember the "touch" or feeling of his first love. To each their own glad you are digging the album man!
