Longest blade is 17.5"/44cm. All fixed. Only have 4 currently but that may grow.

I searched and see a number of people adding felt to cabinets etc but I have no experience with that kind of thing, just looking for something that will keep them safe that I can buy ASAP and is idiot proof to make use of.

One of those people shaped knife blocks
I genuinely can't tell if you are messing with me or this is a sincere recommendation, Reddit has ruined my brain 😭:(.

Can you confirm? The man shaped part is what threw me slightly.

I thought it would look cool.

Magnetic wall strip's?
Are there any concerns with humidity over the long term with a knife block or wall strip? (since you're leaving them in the open air I mean)

My dad would screw longer screws part way into the wooden paneling, and then sleeve the remaining screw that is still sticking out with a small diameter rubber tubing.

Then rest knife/sheath on top of that

I'm confused. Is this intended to be displayed? Can they not be stored in their sheaths?

Ideally, yes to be displayed. I've been reading that keeping them in their sheaths all the time is bad as they accumulate moisture? I'm a total newbie so if I'm wrong do correct me.

For now I've purchased this:

Is there a way to be sure they won't fall off it though? Like... is there a way to measure its magnetic strength?

Short answer. No.

Bit I have a cheap one of those and my knives don't fall off

put the knife on it as it's supposed to be used and see how strong the pull is.......

In a generally humidity-controlled environment it shouldn't be an issue, but you can also lightly oil them or coat them in Renn Wax or something similar. The main issue is excess humidity or rapid increases in humidity where they're stored.

One thing about a magnetic storage strip that I think is unique to daggers is that it's harder to store daggers on them because you don't have a large, flat primary bevel on the blade to stick to the magnet like you do with chef's knives. You have four identical grinds, often hollow, on a narrower blade. Less real estate to 'stick.'

I bought a (small) dehumidifier should that be sufficient if I'm just keeping them in my air conditioned room?

As far as the magnetic storage... I am honestly really paranoid about them falling off. Would buying a cabinet and just keeping them in felted drawers or something be a better idea? I'd prefer to display them but above all I want them to stay in good condition.

I think you're overthinking it. The air conditioning is probably fine. If you're paranoid about the magnetic storage, wooden display stands are inexpensive.
