I have always had a weakness for a long, shiny, hollow ground dagger. They are just so beautiful, and I'm sure it's fun and kind of dangerous to cut fruit with one lol...so I've decided to finally get one and find out. The discontinued cold steel san mai peace keeper is an interesting choice if I can track one down, any other ideas? Also feel free to show off your awesome daggers, some pictures would be motivating!

Rcs, does this mean you were a Royal Marine Commando? If so, I'm a little embarrassed to post my childishly antisocial fantasy pieces.
I saw an older F&S with leather tabs to sew the sheath to the uniform and a cast brass handle.
It only just occurred to me what a nuisance that sewn-on sheath would be if you ever got a new uniform or had to wash the old one.

Hi screened porch . no mate I wasn't in Royal marines . I just have a large collection of cap badges . I was in the grenadier guards though the tabs on the the side of the sheath have holes in them to put laces throw so it can be strapped to you leg .:) .

The lace holes make more sense; thanks for the info.

I didn't do any military service, so I don't want to put on any combative airs on Memorial Day Weekend.

Double edged knives do have a certain magic, though- maybe because they look like knightly swords.

I had one of the original Sykes and Fairbairn knives. (It belongd to daddy during WWII.) somehow, the tip had broken off. I don't know where it went, but I wish i had another "original." God help me, I miss the man! :emptiness:

Thinks for the memories.
