Hello again,
I just noticed that the Daggert's are hitting the shelves as well. Could anyone tell me about the Daggert 2 and how it would perform in the field, I really like the looks of this one. Having once had a Desert Dagger I know I like the design, I just hope it's a little more robust. IMHO the Desert Dagger felt a little light for the chores it was claimed to be able to perfrom, but otherwise I loved that knife.

Thanks in advance.

Dear lagarto,

SOG has released the Daggert 1, but the Daggert 2 is not yet in stock. I have not had the chance to use it out in the field but I can tell you that the Daggerts feature thicker blades made of harder steel and also have a protective, anti-glare black TiAIN coating. They are serrated on one side. Below are specs for both new knives and for the old S25 so that you can compare them. You can also view these new knives
online at www.absoluteknives.com/fixedblades.

The Daggert 2 has a thicker blade than the Desert Dagger (.200" vs .160"). It also has a better grade steel (8A vs 6A) a more robust crossguard and a more comforatble (at least in my opinion) handle. All of this plus you get a black TiNi coating and the Daggert 2 is a much better value and quite possibly a much stronger knife than the Desert Dagger.

If you need more info please let me know.

Chris thanks for the updates in this thread and my request for info on the Seal Pup Elite as well. Hopefully I'll be picking up one of each before too long and will post a review here.
