DAL TEX axe head

Do you guys know what this is. Found recently at a garage sale. 5-5/8" at widest point, 5-1/2" from center line of handle hole.
DAL TEX in caps. 36 15 and below looks like a big "S" with a "p".

Poked around a little and couldnt find anything. I like it...good find...

Dal Tex = Dallas Texas , I believe it was an old tool making company.



you going to fix her up with a new handle ?
 
Don't know what I am going to do yet with the head. Too many projects.
As to DAL TEX, that is also the name of the building next to the Texas School Book Depository that some people think the "other shots" came from at JFK.
There is a DAL TEX tool company today, but their stuff is not anyway related to Axe heads that I could tell.
