Received a package in the mail on Monday from a good friend of mine,Seth, Jbravo on these forums. It was a birthday present and it was the memorial D'Allara knife with the WTC steel in the rosewood box. Seth knows, as alot of you do, that John D'Allara was a good friend of mine in H.S. way back in the 70's and my first weightlifting partner. We left alot of sweat in the old Mid-City gym in Manhattan.
I've already said thanks to Seth, and got to shake Sal's hand and thank him at the NY show for making this knife. I would like to thank everyone who had anything to do with this knife being made. A special thanks to the guy who always does the sharpening at Spyderco's table at the NY show(with the handlebar mustache and bowler), I believe his name is Jeff, I was told that he was very instrumental in getting the ball rolling and obtaining the WTC steel. I apologize for not knowing your name but thanks brother. Thanks to the NYPD and the other D'Allara's, and of course thank you to everyone at Spyderco.
This knife will forever be in my family and cherished forever.

Never Forget!

Good Post Dave- I was wondering if one of those knives would wind up w/ you. I know you'll cherish it.
BTW The guy w/ the bowler & the handlebar 'stash is Jeff Silman.
