It's got S30V steel and a ball lock. Looks like a nice knife.

What do you guys think about it?

(I just ordered one. :D)

I've handled them and liked them The handle fills the hand well and feels solid. I like the blade shape and the ball lock. Unfortunately they are discontinued.

I just bought one this past week. I really like it. In particular I like the very very sturdy lockup and how ergonomic the handle is. I've been carrying it deep in my pocket clipless for about a week. They can be had for about 50% of retail or less due to them being discontinued. Now that I have one, I can't figure out why they aren't more popular. It is by far the most ergonomic of all my knives, I even like the in hand feel better then my beloved manix. The blade is very sharp and sturdy. I've done the usual box breakdowns, openings etc with it and have been very pleased. At its current prices, its a steal.

I believe the original version was the D'Allara World Trade Center knife that came with S30V in Spyderedge, and only 2819 made with an inlay from Tower 1. As far as I know, that is the only D'Allara that has S30V steel, and they were made in Golden.

Subsequent models were made in Seki with VG-10 steel and could be had in PE or SE, with sheepsfoot blade and then the drop point variation. Great knife, very hand filling and smooth to open. The only thing that may have hurt the models popularity is that they are not a small knife. If you can find one I think it's an excellent blade, even more so if you pick one up discounted. Enjoy your new knife.

A few D'Allara pics.

awesome photos pkdmslf  I like the ergos of the 3D FRN handle of the D'allara as much as the one on my Native3....extremely comfy grip

Well, goosepoop. I must have misread the catalog on the steel type. (I've looked at so many knives that they have all started to run together in my mind.)

That means I will definitely have to get the Native now.:foot::D I don't have anything against VG10. I have it on my Fallknivens and think it's a great steel.

i got mine out and carried it for about 4 hours today, thats by far the best feeling spyderco i have.

I've had my eye on one for awhile, how does it compare size-wise to a Native?

If you keep your eye on one for too much longer, you will just keep watching, or pay a bit more. They are discontinued and will soon only be available on E-bay.

Anyway, I have an Endura and a Native, and this by far is the largest knife of the three, even with the shorter blade than the Endura. The blade sticks way out of the handle when closed and the handle is quite a bit wider and thicker than the Native and Endura.

I've had mine for a while now. I love it!!! Very sharp and it fills the hand for a good grip.

It's a lot of knife for the money. Solid lock and very smooth. I think Spyderco honored D'Allara by making the knife something special.
