Dallas Gun and Knife show - how is it?

I'll be there! I've been to it once before, but it was about 5 or 6 years ago. I can't say as to how many knife dealers or retailers will be there, but it says like 1700 tables. I wasn't able to go to Blade, so this will have to do!

It's a big gun show, $10 admission. I don't go very often but I'll be there this time.

There are usually 3 or 4 custom knifemakers mixed in here and there, 2 or 3 sellers with a lot of traditionals, 1 or 2 sellers with new factory folders, and lots of people that have a few knives in addition to their guns. There used to be a guy that sold knifemaking supplies but he was trying to sell his business so I don't know if he will be there. Last year they had a knife expo in conjunction with the gun show and there were 20+ custom makers all there together. Spyderco even had a booth.

Don't bother, I've been 3 times and each time said I wouldn't go back, now I really won't. Lots of junk knives, possibly some deals to be had on quality stuff but not worth the overall effort required, you could better invest the time on the exchange on here. As far as guns, lots of quantity but nothing you can't easily find any day in a store or in private sales anyway. During the panic of 2013 there was price gouging to the extreme. That has calmed down obviously, but the organizers tolerance of that leaves a bad taste in my mouth...that along with one booth selling T shirts with Obama's face with a reticle on it. I'm far from an Obama fan, but that is going WAY too far, especially in the city where the last presidential assassination took place.

Honestly, most gun shows seem like a waste of time these days, unless you are interested in the freak show people watching value they present.

I would probably go check it out, if I didn't already commit to a company picnic event on Saturday.
I like going to the normal gun shows in Ft. Worth, so a larger event might have been cool. Maybe next time.
