I am been looking at getting a Dalton Jackal, but really dont know much
about them. I have also been looking at a Protech Godson. I know they are
two different animals in blade style, but which is built better ? The only
thing I dont like about the Dalton is those funky colors ! :barf:
Since they are automatics, I probably wont carry so it will be mostly
something to play with at the house. I recently traded for a UT6, but Man !
is that button hard to work !!

Thanks,
Ram

Dalton makes some great knives, and has some very unique designs. They are well made, have good QC, fit and finish and lockup in my experience. I don't have a Jackal, so I can't really comment on that model in particular. Most likely the colors will grow on you. The first time I saw the Jackal I didn't like the veining either, but now I love it.

As far as which is built better, well that really depends. As you already said they are two very different animals. The Jackal is more of a hard working knife, and the Godson seems a bit more delicate and dressy. Hard to compare, but both would be well built knives.

I have both and they are well made knives. Since you are not buying it as a user, get the one you like best. The Jackal has a much better user blade design, where the Godson has a stabber type blade. Both have a good kick. The Jackal is D/A where the Godson is not. You will be happy with either one.
