Dam ebay

What are you talking about

Are you talking about this one ULTIMATE FSH listing?

I bet that one will hit 900. All the satins were just like LE's just without the number

I wonder why they did that???

There were times before that I wanted to bid on a knife, but if I saw CERTAIN names, I knoew to back off (because they seem to have some of those trees in their backyard that grow money  )

I guess now it's all fair game...

Oh... I wouldn't know. I just assumed it was a new policy or something.

It is a seller's choice to make the bidding list private, at least it was the last time I listed something.

That is the seller's choice, isn't it?

That's my guess too... Because it's not that way on every listing... so it has to be an option you select when you list an item. I don't know for sure, but logic says its an option

ebay's new policy ,all bidder's are given an number ,only sellers can see names
I think it STINKS

Private Listing

Would you like your buyers' identities to remain anonymous? When you create a private listing, a buyer's User ID will not appear in the listing or in the listing's bid history.

When to Use a Private Listing

While there are some cases where private listings are appropriate, such as the sale of high-priced ticket items or approved pharmaceutical products, you should only make your listing private for a specific reason.

How to create a Private Listing

Click the "Sell" tab at the top of most eBay pages.

Click the Sell Your Item button.

Select "Sell item at online Auction," and then click the Continue button.

On the third page of the Sell Your Item form, click the "Change" link under the "Private listing" heading.

Select the check box next to "Private listing."

HOG Mod's if U think this shouldn't be posted here, just delete, thanks Jules

Sorry about that. I did not aware the policy.

I just saw something REAL NICE PIECE OF INFI so i can't resist to share with Hogs.

I don't see a problem with ti Jules, it is informational only, but I haven't been a mod very long.

Here is another blurb I founf informative:

"As the internet evolves, eBay continues to strike a balance between preserving transparency and protecting our Community of members. eBay has decided to change how bid history information is displayed so bad guys cannot target bidders with fake offers using this information. In certain cases, some bidders will no longer be able to view Bidder User IDs on the Bid History page. Your User ID will be shown only to you and the seller of the item you're bidding on. Other members will see an anonymous name, such as Bidder 1, applied consistently to the Bid History page."

As I have received these fake second chance offers I can appreciate the effort. Of course they don't mention how this will also cut out the under the table deals that might occur between folks. The way it used to be, if you had the same knife, you could go to the list of bidders after the auction closed and offer them the same knife and ebay wouldn't get their cut. Things are definitely changing.

I find it offensive that ebay is even mentioned over here especially when you consider all of the people who have gotten burned over the years it's sickening.:barf: Hey but roll the dice if you want.

eBay is not protecting its customers. eBay is protecting its bottom line.

They don't want behind-the-scenes sales. Period.
