Damaged DMT?

I just opened my new DMT and saw this



Is this damaged .

The best I can tell, you have a small defect near the center of the plate. Even if the diamonds are missing from that spot it won't make a difference, the diamond plate will still work just fine.

Many, and I mean many believe that they have received defective DMT plates, 99% of the time there is nothing wrong with the plate. Use them, let them break-in and then decide if something is wrong.
 
These are my first DMT and I'm not sure if the deep holes that are in the diamond are normal . I'm also wondering how is there warranty .
 
I wouldn't worry about a few cosmetic blemishes, it's not supposed to look pretty... It's mission in life is to grind steel.

P.S. Mine have similar blemishes, they never caused a problem though, so I never worried about it.
 
Use it, I have some that have sharpened 100 knives that look worse and still outcut anything else I have.
