damaging heat treatment?

I'm thinking of using a normal oven to heat my knife as part of applying Militec-1 lubricant, as much as an hour or two in one sitting. What's a good temperature (probably over 100 F) that won't damage a blade's temper? (specific steels: M2, 154CM)

Both M2 and 154 have a very high tempering range so you need not worry about damaging them. They are well over the tempering range of most carbon steels, O1, 5160, L6, which are in the 350F-425F range for knife hardness.

Like Greg said above, plus, I don't think there is anything short of a heat treating oven that could begin to take the temper out of M2.

It's all but impossible to anneal by accident.:D
