Finished this bad boy up a little while ago and figured I'd post up these great photos Coop sent back of it. Blade's 3 3/4" with a 4" handle, 7 3/4" overall. Damascus is ladder patterned W2, 1084 and 15N20. I'm not sure the layer count on this one, it's an older piece of damascus. Handle material is a beautiful piece of abalone, probably one of the largest single pieces I've ever seen, with bronze spacers and damascus bolsters with file-work.

The sheath is custom made out of shark skin and was made by Paul Long. Photos by Sharp by Coop Photography.

Kyle, ya did very good on this one, bubba!

I really need to start hiding the good handle material...

Really smart quality everywhere on this one. The abalone is rich with many colors, and that set of spacers is attention-gripping.

Paul's work always elevates a knife further. This one is reaching high!

A privilege to capture. :) Thank you.

Really cool piece Kyle. That abalone looks like a window into another dimension. Lot of craftsman would not have had the guts to use such a unique piece but it definitely makes a statement on this knife. Great Damascus too.

Don you have the best eye for handle material. I need to borrow your glasses at the next Arkansas show and see if I can find something half as good as what's in your stash.

Mark, I bought the abalone at least 12 years ago and have yet to see a set that large, or nice since then.
Was saving it for a very high-end folder, but it sure looks good here!

Micheal, we will look around at the Ar show in a couple months...

This one is so nice and so unique. The abalone scales are a joy to see in person. Great fit and finish by Kyle. Paul's shark skin sheath makes this package shine. Really a great image, Coop. What a fun piece.

Great job, Kyle

Like the shape of the knife, and the abalone really does put it over the top.

Rarely see it used, but nice pieces are really spectacular and unique

Kyle, that is one beautiful knife.

Would you mind a couple questions..? Do you use epoxy between the tang, liners, and scales? Hidden pins? I've pondered the challenges of doing damascus full tang knives and ensuring the handle materials were all dimensioned prior to final construction so the etch on the tang wasn't messed up. However you did it, sure looks nice.
