WOW butch! That is stunning. I've never used a cut throat razor, I reckon I would nick myself all over the place. If I were to use that at least I would be nicking my self with style :D
Cheers Keith

Man, that is nice.
Is that handle one solid piece of ivory?
Much Respect

WOW again! I can't recall EVER seeing a nicer razor than THAT Butch! Nice shaped ivory, sweet damascus pattern and dark etch work great together.

mike yes its one piece you cut 90% of the way into the block then sand to finish leaving the scale one piece. while i do at times liek the bright color of a wedge spacer inthe handle i woudl rather make the mono scale. mono scale is a much cleaner more flowing look in my eyes

its 7/8 tall and i think im going to have ot test shave it tonight before i ship it out to classicshaving.com in the AM

Butch, You're getting good at these.
I'm sure you've been asked before but how thin is the edge on this bad boy?

That's a beautiful piece Butch. It makes my eyes water thinking about the skill necessary to do that to a piece of ivory...

chef as i was sawing it it i was just thinking one think (dont F this up )
the starter piece was about 1/4 thick and i had t glue it to a sacrificial block (milled square on all sides ) before even taking one cut with the saw

bruce at the edge before sharpening im thinking .002-003 maybe les as its hard to mic such a thing

oooo and so you al know the test shave went well (and thats what counts for a user razor after all )

That is a beautiful razor! Very elegant design of the blade.
I wonder what the grind is? More wedge or hollow? I cant see that on the pictures.
I am sure the customer will love to shave with that piece.

Ulrik

Terrific looking straight razor, Butch.
Really dig the materials you used.
