Hi guys, this knife is my first of two damascus knives. this one is my first commisioned piece. it is 10.5" OAL with a 6.5" blade length. it's made from 1084 / 15N20 random pattern damascus (thanks to Dan Seaver) Handle is Stabilized redwood burl from Burl source with stainless pin and tube. Heat treat by Rob at knife maker.ca blade has a Rc of 59-60.

Nicely done. Burl source carries some excellent handle material. The grinds are well executed.

The handle pin seems a little far forward, but thats just me. Try to keep your early damascus pieces, they will mean a lot to you later.

thanks for the kind words guys. forgot to mention that the knife is hollow ground on a 10" wheel.
Fred, I would love to be able to keep this knife but it isnt going too far.

I just got an email from the customer of this knife and he wants me to make him a sheath for it now too. I told him that it would cost a bit more as in our original discussions he told me it would be a kitchen knife only. So now I get to start on that. I really don't enjoy leather work as much as I love making the knives but I guess they go hand in hand.

Looks good, really like the combination and contrast. Not sure if I like the pin placement, but didn't even notice it until it was mentioned, so it may just be me.
