Here's the latest knife I made:

Damascus from 1030 and O1, handle in curupay wood and bronze.
Blade is aprox 4.5" including bolsters and overall lenght is 8.5"

With a 9/16" wrench you can unscrew the pommel (wich it has a Sun from a coin on it) and the blade/guard will come appart from the handle and the pommel piece.

Sheath is cow leather covered in anaconda skin.

love that integral bolster, Ariel.

One suggestion - I would have liked to have seen silver/steel/etc. fittings instead of bronze.

Other than that - a great knife and a sweet sheath.

I never thought of silver fittings as the customer wanted an Inca design on the pommel (the Sun) so bronze was the choice from starters, as gold was not possible :)

copper too.....the sheath has a copper-ish color in it.

Do you make any mokume?

An excellent looking knife. I like the bronze.

This may seem a silly question but is it possible to make a bronze coloured damascus?

If you check out Ariel's site you will see a few knives that have his homemade "copper" damascus. Its really nice stuff. That may be close to what your after or asking

Yes - have seen Ariel's damascus...that's why I'm wondering if he makes mokume....

Ariel....?

Daniel,

I used bronze because it resambles the gold used by the Incas the most, copper was too reddish for that.

I haven't made mokume in a while, but yes, I do make it, not with precious metals though, here's an example in nickel silver and copper:

gajinoz,

It is posible to to the same I do with copper, but using other solutions and get the damascus "bronze-ized" I haven't tried myself yet, but I know it can be done.

Merry Christmas!!
