I had about 15 minutes to get some pics of the Bowie before delivery, let me say that getting the Damascus to show up in poor ambient light is tricky, at best.

Steel is 1095/L6, random pattern, I will be making more in the future. Going to make a visit to Chad Nichols and get some pointers on "mass" steel making.
Fittings are mild steel (blued), handle is Stag. Forgot to measure the overall length, but the blade is 9.5" x 1-1/2+".

This is the first Bowie ive done with guard/ferrul/butt cap in a long time (first actually with a butt cap). Had to re-learn a few simple construction "tricks" I obviosly had forgotten.

Will be doing a few more along these lines, as soon as I catch up on requests.

The Damascus is much "clearer" in person, but here goes-

that's super cool, Matt:thumbup:
Beauty shape overall, very sleek.
The steel is wicked! Looks like contour lines on a map. A map to knife awesomeness...

Exactly what I was thinking. Very striking piece Matt - I definitely dig it.

I actually enjoyed fitting up the stag and guard/ferrule, going to be making a few more in the traditional style like this one.

As nice as your other knives are, I think you hit a home run with this one, Matt.

Matt , I remember seeing your early work on 1911forum , and being in awe of it then.

I am even more in awe of it now that I have made a couple knives myself.

Really your style and your attention to detail.

Nice work.
