Recently completed for a client is this guardless bowie with an artifact walrus ivory handle, Chad Nichols reforged high contrast damascus blade and fantastic scrim by the lovely and talented Linda Karst Stone!!
The blade length is 8" with and OAL of 13" with of course a patterned copper band with rawhide wraps. The client specified that he wanted a Native with a mohawk for the scrim and a spirit animal of a woodpecker for his child.I sent Linda some photos I found of Wes Studi's character from the movie Dances with Wolves and then let her do what she does best!!
Thanks go out to Coop for once again showing this piece off with his talent behind the camera!!

John, do you remember that day at Blade several years ago when we were chatting and you said "Man, I'd give anything to be as good as.................(well we won't mention names here), but any way, a very few years later, tell me. How's the view from the top of the heap?

Your work is the pinnacle in your genre, period!

Paul

embellishments aside, (they are outstanding) this piece has very nice lines

Wow great looking piece and I love the look of most the different types of ivory just not how we get much of it.

Thanks everyone!!Paul, I do remember our talk at Blade, it was 2009 and was my first time at Blade and also is when you introduced me to J Neilson and our collaborations began! I have always respected your opinions Paul, as well as your support, it means more to me than you will ever know!!

Beautiful work, John. I have your basic and advanced rawhide sheath videos but I haven't had the courage to attempt one yet.

^^^ What THEY said. :D

Each time I get one of John's pieces, I sit there admiring it for a minute, and then the WORK begins...

...HOW can I show this off correctly??!! It rarely matters. John's work looks good in any format. :)

Isn't Linda Karst Stone's work exceptional? Wow.
