Damascus blade edge retention

I have a couple of Boker folders with 320 layer steel. The blades take 18-24 hours, are made in Germany and shipped to Boker in the US for finishing.

I ready haven't used these knives enough to compare edge retention to non damascus steel.

Is there anyone that has a CRK with a damascus blade that Uses the knife enough to tell me:

Does it hold an edge the same as, better than, or worse than s30v or s35vn ?

I'd like comments from guys or gals that use their damascus and s30v and s35vn enough to compare them....is there a difference in edge retention ?

I've used a ladder Damascus large for a few years, and find it holds as well as a 30/35.. possibly a little harder to keep sharp? But I never hold back on using or sharpening,, Bart1

I had a stainless damascus raindrop Large 21 ( I sold). That one was the easiest to get the sharpest of any I've owned. It was a user and cut wood, rope, roots, wire, etc... I am actually awaiting a new raindrop 21 right now (I don't plan to let it go). S30V and s35V can both get marginally sharper and can stay sharper marginally longer from what I've read. I haven't observed this in actual practice though. I don't really know to be honest as I've never had trouble sharpening anything CRK has put out. I'm just saying that I found damascus in general to be easier to get sharper, consistently and with less effort and time, even when incredibly dull. I don't personally think it dulls any more or less quickly than s30/5V steel.
Carbon steel damascus is a whole different story...
