Just received my first Spyderco: this Delica 4 Titanium/Damascus C11TIPD.

Really bummed. I contacted them via their web form about the off-center VG10/Damascus sandwich (bent VG10 layer? - it starts out centered near the pivot and then after the jimping it makes a left turn). Hopefully they will be good about it. I looked at *a lot* of photos and youtube videos before pulling the trigger on this and *none* of them looked this way - all of them were symmetrical.

Looks fine to me. If its not what you want, send it back to the dealer you got it from. To me its nicer than a symetrical pattern.

Interesting feedback, thanks. Spyderco says it's within spec from these pics. Thing is, I've *never* seen a pic or video of one that didn't have the VG10 centered in the sandwich. Don't know why but it just bugs me.

Pretty sure the dealer will charge a 15% restock. Spyderco said I can send it in for "warranty evaluation" and that they would try to find one that was more symmetrical if that's what I want. I'll think on it for a couple days.

Sorry I can't be more help, but this is exactly the reason I wasn't too sure about ordering this knife sight unseen. Luckily (?) my closest knife shop is about a 90 minute trip each way, and they had 11 in stock, so I was able to choose one that "spoke" to me.

Good luck !

Steve - you have the right approach. I wish I had a well-stocked knife shop that had competitive pricing near me, but I don't. SMKW is 4 hours and they are perpetually out of stock on this item anyway.

+1

I wish the same, but this is wishful thinking. I have few gun shops within driving distance, which have few basic models and all at MSRP. I doubt that you will see any flaws in cutting performance and visually it is nice, but if you do not like it, send it back.
