Damascus blades

RRR is always ready to make one! I've admired the Raindrop Damascus Buck uses on some of the high end LE's and hope one day to see a 112 with it.

I just got a LE Buck 110 with the raindrop damascus blade and white G-10 handle. I've always wanted a well made and unique Buck folder. Great quality from a iconic American company.

Anybody using their Damascus 110?

For me, I just got the 110 with the raindrop damascus blade the other night. I don't think I would use it. I acquired it more for my safe queen collection than anything else.

having used a carbon black Damascus blade I can tell you they work! but you have to clean them or they will rust
have not used a stainless Damascus blade but having cut my self with one ...
I think they may not cut as well as the carbon Damascus
some how I think they are mostly for looks.... which they do well at...
I think many underestimate carbon steel blades ...

Have we (can we) confirm where Buck sourced the Damascus Steel for this knife? I have found several makers of "Raindrop" Damascus. I would like to know the steel they combined to make it too.

I asked Jeff about the composition of the C&C raindrop and he says AEB-L and 304. The only testing I've done is shaving some arm hair after using a lansky fine stone and a strop. Heres mine enhanced in photoshop but it actually has that oil slick effect in the sun.

Nice. And AEB-L and 304 are stainless I believe.
