Damascus BM43?

Hey all,

Wondering if anyone knew anything about a Damascus BM 43 from BM? Heard this one at a knife store today. BM is supposed to be shipping these before to long. If its true, its great, if not, just another bad peice on info. Something to think on,

I also wouldn't put it past BM to do something like this. I'd say, go for a second opinion with another dealer. ;)
 
Perhaps Mr. Gollnick knows if this is a possibility??? :) In honesty I've heard nothing of a damascus version in the relatively near future, but I hope your dealer is right! :p

With SS handles I'd get (2) :cool:

I wonder if an MSRP of about half that of the 49-01 would be appropriate for such a knife???? ;)
 
I am with ExamonLyf, if it came with SS handles, now that would be something! And that fancy spring loaded latch... mmm... spring loaded latch...
 
there ARE mere mortals onthis board,lets keep it reasonably priced ;)

i love the sound of a damascus 43...might have to get one,when and if they come out.
 
Damascus would be sooooo sweet!!! Ti handles would be acceptable, although ss w/ some type of inlay would truley set off the blade. Bring them on:D .
 
I agree, damascus 43 with SS handles would be a very yummy knife...And this spring-loaded latch idea is intriguing as well ;)
 
A German online shop has had that one listed for pre-order since maybe a month. They give the following information:

No idea how reliable that is, though. The price there is about 1300 German Marks. The 49-01 is 1700, so do the math if you like.

Well, the secret is out. Last I heard the handle may be made out of 303 SS, but no confirmation. All 100 pieces are spoken from from the factory, and was sold to dealers. MSRP on it is either $300 or $350 US. Delivery is anticipated to start before the end of the year.

And that was the big secret Masse hinted at for the 43 Trivia. But at that time, no information was available other than it was on the drawing board.

Well, I know Im gonna pick mine up. It seems to me that BM may not go back into true custom work, bt they sure are doing a decent job w/ this Limited production stuff. Thnx

The problem with limited editions; never enough to go around, very expensive. Us common folk don't hear about them until they are all gone.
 
Any update on this? Presumably not shipping by the end of the year.. but any more details? SS handles? Curious what type of damascus, too...
 
I beleive there is a manufacturing problem with the blades. The composition of the material in the production lot is not the same as that used in the experimental lot. Hopefully we'll see them in the Spring.
