I gave this one a 320 layer random pattern blade. The handle is a very nice piece of crotch walnut. This just shows that you don't have to shop around the world for a beautiful piece of wood for your handles :friendly_wink:.

Hope you like it.

Gary, love that wood and your Damascus. It does look like a face in the blade.

Is the pommel also of the same Damascus? Can't tell from photos.

Thanks Mark. I've always been a fan of burled walnut. The nice thing about a random damascus is you never know just what will show up in the steel pattern. :) I couldn't get another face like that if I tried. I will often intentionally miss-hit some of the hammer blows to change the look of the steel with no idea of just what it will end up looking like. That's some of the fun of a random.

The pommel is from the end of the original billet that didn't get cut & stacked as many times so it has a lower layer count.
