damascus cable source

I know where a whole bunch of 3-inch diameter cable is. All I gotta do is cut some up.

I'm thinking check around old quarries and maybe shipyards. Does it matter if the cable is rusty? I never made cable damascus before, so I'm no authority.
 
Hey George. Little Big Momma is still BIG! The due date was yesterday but, she's stubborn. She just got back from teaching aerobics, AGAIN! I hope the hammer-in goes well. Still not happy about missing it though. Give me a postage amount and we'll be golden.

I'm about half way between you two, Perhaps I can hook you two up, I'll most likely be going to Cobleskill in two weeks, I could just hook out further west then head up north J.

I'ts not that the postage is that big a deal but I'm taking a "mental health" week off and thought it would be a chance to meet another maker and the only thing I HAVE to do that week is get some stuff moved from Cobleskill to Connecticut for my Mom.

Worst case is having J meet me out near I-81. Best case is to meet him and to see some of his knives in person. I have to set that up yet, but I'm thinking (Yea, I need to take an Ex-Lax to do this)Saturday the 10th og May.

I have a hard time keeping names in my head, That thick Polish blood can't get much past the neck.

I know this might sound selfish but I wouldn't mind being able to get with our more western members (and other interested parties) who might not be able to travel to the far east. Might go a long way toward keeping the club membership up.

Wow, the generosity of my fellow knifemakers still astounds me. George, any cable would be great. I've only used it once but, I've got a few ideas rolling around in my noggin. Especially after I get this hammer home.
Polock, your more than welcome to come up to the hill. I'd appreciate the delivery and we've got plenty of mental rest up here. We'll see after the baby comes, though. :rolleyes: Tess was due two days ago so I'm sure it will be out by then. I hope it comes out soon, I got sheaths I need finished.;) If you can make it up here (not sure how far out you'll be) we'll set you up with a good meal of rabbit paprikash or something. Then we can go in the shop or just watch the cows.
 
J. When I get there I expect a whole cow paprikash.:D :D Paul just don't leave without it I have it cut and tag with J.s name in the corner of the smitty. I also have a piece of cable welded on a handle with your name on it, for tomorrow.
