Damascus change for 110's still going? (Joe?)

awhile ago, buck was offering a blade swap for 110's with Damascus. They kept the blade. I was wondering if this is still going on? If so, how much? (I seem to remember it being 30 plus 5 for S&H) Thanks.

I believe the offer was for BG 42 for $30. The Damascus is considerably more than the other steels, but worth the money, i really like my PCKS in Damascus.You might e mail Joe direct on this.

Buck is still doing the change-out for damascus @ the tune of $35.00 (Shipped). That's six bucks off the PCKS price for the blade. A groovy deal, and something different if you're loaded up on the
BG-42 already!
 
. . . . there's something to be said for the less "leading edge" blade materials. I bought a PCKS 110 in stag w/BG-42 and my name on it. Great, but too nice to use for "heavy duty" cutting. So I dug out a recent vintage standard 110 and sent it in to Joe for a new BG-42 blade. Super steel, and not too purdy to use. The only problem was that when it met it's match (staples in boxes I'm opening, etc.,) it was a bear to re-shape and sharpen. So last week I caught a local sporting goods store selling 560's for $40. I picked one up thinking I'd send it in for the BG-42 blade. In the mean time, I started carrying it on my belt to work. Now I'm planning on keeping it as-is. The 420HC (or whatever) stays sharp darn near as well as the BG, but is much easier to sharpen. Guess I'm becoming somewhat of a reverse steel elitist. ;)

P.S. Jake: Nice sig. I attended the cross town rivals "The SEA School of Hard Knocks". Finished second place in the war games, too!!
