Hello All

This is a knife that I just finished up. I will have it at the Arkansas show this weekend. The blade is 8.2" long and overall of 13.1". The guard and butt are stainless with a sterling silver ferrule. The handle is blackwood.

Thanks for looking
Brian

Thats a beauty Brian, the damascus is outstanding. I hope to see it in a couple days.

Very nice Brian, especially like the damascus.

I do agree with Keith in that a single sterling pin would add aesthetically as your
damascus pattern is so bold that it leaves your handle appearing just a little plain or off balance imo.

interesting knife Brion. I assume the light middle of the blade is the photography. I'd prefer multiple pins. good luck at the show.

I like it without the distraction of pins.
Knowing Brian, when he says "ferrule" it actually IS a ferrule! Not a spacer or a collar that so often get confused with ferrules.
I really like the satin finish on your hardware, Brian.
Good luck at the show.

That's beautiful Brian! I just got some v-block dies for my press but haven't had a chance to use them yet. You inspire me.

Look forward to seeing you again this week in Little Rock.

Nice job.

OUTstanding Brian. That damascus is dazzling. Great contrast between light and dark layers.

As opposed to pins, I think an elongated sterling oval would be cool, but it looks good just as it is too!

Thank you for the compliments, critiques and suggestions. I do appreciate all of them.

Gary, you just need flat dies to do this one, and a bit of imagination :)

Karl, you are correct. This is an actual ferrule where the silver band is wrapped around the the front of the handle.

Murray, yes the lighting is what is causing the brighter spot in the middle of the blade. I still need to work on my photography for larger blades.

I appreciate the comments on the pins. Although not needed for construction purposes as the tang goes completely through to the butt, I can see where aesthetically it could be an improvement.

Maybe silver wire inlay would be another idea for the handle on next one -- what do you think?

Brian that looks good what steels did you use in the damascus your carbon steel came out nice and dark I like it. good luck at the show.
