Damascus Combo's

I've been welding up random pattern Damascus out of 15n20 - 1084 and its going well but was wondering If I could use 15n20 w/ W2 or would L6 be a better fit with W2?

Stick with the 15n20..L6 is a much slower oil hardening steel..It dosnt get along that well with hyperE steels..

I am not recommending anything, but I will mention that kevin cashen uses L6/O1 for his damascus.

Yes L6/O1 makes my very favorite damascus..I was saying dont mix L6 with the likes of 1084/1095 etc...L6/O1 have similar cooling rates..

I have 30lbs of w2 so i'll stick with the 15n20.

But where the heck do you get L6 in decent sizes? Aldo has 5/16" but I was wanting something a bit thinner.
