I made one similar to this one late last year, but this time forged the blade from Rados Twist, rather than Random.
W2 and 203E steels, hot blued.
Hot blueed mild steel fittings.
Some might call it a shame to mate such nice Damascus with Micarta, but this WILL be carried every day and used by its owner.
Heavy,wet-molded sheath, and, as a matter of course, Take-down.
8 1/4" overall, with a 4" blade.

Yes Karl, some may even go as far to say its a shame to mate micarta with any blade material. ;) But the customer's always right, as they say.

It's still a fine piece and he will no doubt get many years of pleasure and service from it.

Wonder what Bob Loveless would say about that??
It's one of my favorites for a serious user. You NEVER have to worry about it.

Durable no doubt.

IMO, there's just too many things made of plastic and artificial materials these days. The look and feel of natural materials offer so much to traditional items such as knife/pistol handles, fishing rods, gun stocks and such.

Just old fashion, I guess.

Great looking Knife, and You know how I feel about Micarta! Same as Bob. Warm to the touch.,Tacky when wet. Even when highly polished. Pleasant look. Will last forever. Hot, cold. Blood, fish guts, It doesn't care. Fantastic stuff. They can't all be Mammoth. Nor should they be. We some times forget that knives are tools first. Some knives should be used, and used hard. Good Job! Mike

Mike, I'm going to start another thread so this subject can be kicked around without tainting this thread or Karl's knife.
