Damascus fighter with stablized maple burl handle and bronze/nickel silver fittings.

Below is a pic of the jig I used for creating the dome on the pins that hold the nickel silver plates in place.

There are much better jigs than mine but this was a rough and ready attempt, so please go easy on the crudeness. There is a 3mm hole that holds the pin with a plate below it to fix it at the right height. The pin is 3mm so there is no chance of bending the pin when I hit it. I then use a small peening hammer to mushroom the end. Then put it mushroom side down in the top hole, a shallow 6mm hole, and hammer the end to bevel the edges.
Then, use 400 and 800 grit paper to finish it off.
