Newbie here, but figured joining up would be worth a shot to get some opinions. Anyway, the thread title says it all. I'll be going to the Smoky Mountains in December and plan on swinging by the Smoky Mountain Knife Works for myself and a couple of co-workers. My wife and I were there in June and I got a small Damascus single blade knife made by Magnum. I know.......nothing fancy and at $20.00, it serves the purpose for cutting tape to open boxes at work. I'm planning on getting another knife with a Damascus blade(s) and was curious about opinions on brands. I'm planning on having somewhere in the neighborhood of $100-$150 to play with. I've seen some that I like the style of made by Bear and Sons, Fox-n-Hound, and Hen and Rooster. Any opinions on a solid, well built, carry around everyday to open boxes with, would be greatly appreciated.
