Hi Knifemakers,
This is a test mule framelock that I have been chipping away at. I make primarily fixed blades, but I have made a few lockbacks in the past and I thought I would try something new. Turns out it is a major pain in the can.
The blade is 1075/1030/15n20 and is the very first piece of Damascus I made with Don Fogg. The pivot is 9/32 W-1 that I turned and the handle is from our friends at Halpern. It still needs a clip and I might turn a slightly bigger stop pin to get the lockup a bit earlier. Other than a borrowed lathe, this was completely made in a blacksmith shop.
The plan is to use this hard and often as an EDC and see how well it takes it. Then I will figure out if I ever want to make another one.
I would love to hear your thoughts,
-Nick
