received news from buck that due to the amount of requests, you can now send your 110 back to buck and for $30.shipping incl,they will change the standard blade to a damascus one. I am thinking of doing it and wanted to know if anyone is familiar with the damascus blades from buck
 
Anyway to get the Damascus blade outright?

This is something we have been doing, although it was mainly started for the model 560 titanium since it is not offered in the custom shoppe. The stipulation is that we do the changeout, and we keep the old blade.

What can you tell us about the Damascus blade? (pattern, steel used, etc.)

several of us forumites have the PCKS damascus. I love mine and i've not seen a negative post about it.
some one posted a picture of an indigo blue w/ damascus.way cool!!

What's the pattern on the PCKS damascus?

I admit I couldn't find a picture of a blue damascus Buck on the forums. Do you have a link?

I'm trying to figure out if I want to get the Damascus upgrade for the 100 yr. anniv. Buck 110 I got for my Dad's birthday. It's still 2 months away, but I want to play it safe and have it back early.

Can anyone help by posting pictures of their PCKS damascus blade?

Yeh, i've looked for the last hour and i cant find it either. The other idea is to go to Bucks web site and check out Petes Custom shop.
I'll keep looking.

PCKS is a great idea, but the pics aren't too clear - they're pretty fuzzy. You'd think that they would want to really showcase the Damascus pattern and would have paid more attention to that pic in particular. Oh well, I'll keep searching.

Jake, real nice knives !! I see Folsom posted his group that has 2 with damascus. It's neat to see what others have done!!
