What is the proper way to sharpen a damascus knife? What is the general opinion on them? I was looking at getting a drop point hunter for camping, hunting/skinning etc

assuming it's proper high carbon damascus Ht'd properly

sharpen it like you would sharpen any knife.

if your worried about losing the damascus pattern at the sharpened bevel there are ways to get it back etched.
