I had all kinds of issues with this build including dropping it right after heat treatment and breaking a chunk off the blade. I was able to grind it out, the blades a little odd but functional.

Damascus steel 1084/15n20
Micarta pins
Fiddleback Maple scales
Brass lanyard hole.

One coat of Tru oil, I'll buff it out when I'm done.

I have about ten coats of Tru oil on and the grain is starting to pop. It will look great when I polish it up. What is everyone's favorite wax to use with Tru oil?

Great looking knife, glad ya didn't give up. Looks like its will be super comfortable for all sorts of wotk

Once the tru-oil sets up you shouldn't need any wax. It holds up pretty well. That said, I'd probably pick a hard car wax for it. With less-sealed wood I'd use a furniture wax.
